How to Reach

La Veduta (The View) is situated near the medieval village of Compignano, in the hills around Monte Quiesa which divides Lucca's plain from Versilia.

Where Compignano is



Compignano is perched on the hills between Lucca and Viareggio, on the top of Monte Quiesa.
Arriving from these cities you have to take the Sarzanese road SS 439 (via Sarzanese).
At Monte Quiesa Pass you find a road sign which shows you the street to the old village. Compignano is about 10 km far away from Lucca and 12 km from Viareggio

How to arrive from Lucca



When you arrive in Lucca coming from Florence via A11 Motorway, otherwise known as Firenze-Mare, take the Sarzanese road SS 439 (via Sarzanese) in the direction of Viareggio. You need to go on for about 10 km through the villages called S. Anna, Nave, Ponte S. Pietro, S. Macario and Maggiano.
On the top of Monte Quiesa turn left to Compignano. After 1 km on a climb road you find a black gate: here begin the village and the Hernandez familyÕs property. Ring the doorbell ÒC. Hart Nibbering

How to arrive from Viareggio


When you arrive in Viareggio coming from Pisa or Genova via Livorno-Genova A12 motorway, in the proximity of the motorway junction in Viareggio come on to the connecting road A11, direction Lucca. At Massarosa exit drive along the Sarzanese road SS 439 (via Sarzanese) in the direction of Lucca. You need to go on for about 5 km through the villages called Massarosa, Bozzano and Quiesa.
On the top of Monte Quiesa turn right to Compignano. After 1 km on a climb road you find a black gate: here begin the village and the Hernandez family's property. Ring the doorbell "C. Hart Nibbering".
